Attitude, Skills and Knowledge NOT Knowledge, Skills and Attitude

Attitude is everything...it should be the first, it is the most significant attribute of a person, not skills or knowledge. It should be ASK (Attitude, Skills and Knowledge) in that order of priority. It is often presented as KSA or Knowledge, Skills and Attitude. However if we reflect and observe the real scenario in promotion, position, designation, schooling and other opportunities in any organization, ATTITUDE is everything. In the profession of arms, it is called SERVICE REPUTATION...no amount of educational achievements and previous assignments can outshine SERVICE REPUTATION especially when it comes to designation to KEY POSITIONS...for the pilots who understand the ATTITUDE of the aircraft from take-off to traffic pattern, it will definitely affect the landing performance of the aircraft...developing and displaying the right ATTITUDE is the key to a SUCCESSFUL CAREER and FULFILLED LIFE...

In the illustration below, if you want to become successful in any organization you should be following the RED LINE because it will reach the top. Unlike following the BLUE LINE, you will be cut off at a certain point of your career in the organization. Maintaining that RED LINE requires many things but ATTITUDE (SERVICE REPUTATION) will be that strongest lift that will bring you to the top. 

 You can conceal your real attitude for a certain numbers of years but not all the time, not all throughout your career. Somewhere along the way, you will meet an event or an activity that will reveal your true identity. As Stephen Covey said in his book entitled "The 7 habits of highly effective people", the innermost character will show as you go on. That character will certainly affect your service reputation at the end of your journey.

This illustration is applicable in any aspects of our life whether in the daily grind or in long term. The message that I am trying to convey is your ATTITUDE will determine your ALTITUDE in life. 

For parents, it is very important to create an ideal environment for the children to develop a POSITIVE ATTITUDE. It will be the best weapon for them to succeed in life. EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE is more important than any other forms of intelligence. High EQ will develop that kind of right attitude that will spell the difference, that will form that ATTITUDE or SERVICE REPUTATION.

The best investment for any parents is the ability to nurture KIDS with the right ATTITUDE. One child will certainly create big impact in the lives of others and for the future generation. If he/she grows up as a good citizen, he/she will inspire many people but if negative things are developed in the attitude of a child, he/she will become a problem in the society and to other people. He/she will not only negatively affect his/her career and life but the careers and lives of others.

ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING. ATTITUDE IN EVERYTHING.
